Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or formal educational equivalent
  • Minimum three years experience in customer service or healthcare environment
  • Ability to perform duties of Access Coordinator I and II levels
  • Basic proficiency with computers and office machines
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Good communication skills and telephone etiquette

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or formal educational equivalent
  • Three years experience in customer service or healthcare environment
  • Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in healthcare preferred
  • Good communication and telephone etiquette skills
  • Basic computer and data entry proficiency
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Schedules appointments using hospital systems
  • Conducts pre-registration and inputs or updates patient information
  • Processes walk-ins and creates new patient charts
  • Manages inventory and maintains equipment and waiting areas
  • Completes ABN forms and schedules surgeries or tests
  • Issues school and work excuses and sends no-show letters
  • Blocks, cancels, and reschedules appointments as necessary
