Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of customer service or healthcare experience
  • Basic proficiency with computers preferably MS Office
  • Excellent telephone etiquette skills
  • General knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance eligibility
  • Ability to maintain professional and positive attitude in a high-volume environment
  • Commitment to consistent attendance
  • Ability to perform pre-employment screenings including criminal background check and drug testing

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of customer service or healthcare experience
  • Basic computer proficiency preferably with MS Office
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • General knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance eligibility
  • Experience with EPIC Systems preferred
  • Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in healthcare preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Marshallese preferred
  • Two years of experience in registration or scheduling in healthcare preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors and manage patient check-ins and check-outs
  • Schedule patient appointments and verify insurance eligibility
  • Collect copays, coinsurance, and past-due balances
  • Post payments, print receipts, and balance cash drawer
  • Prepare documentation for daily deposits
  • Assist billing to identify insurance billing and payment issues
  • Monitor appointment cancellations and no-shows
  • Ensure timely faxing, scanning, and importing of documents
  • Review and match patient billing information with diagnoses and supporting documentation
  • Respond to patient portal requests for demographic and appointment changes
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Maintain professional attitude in a high-volume environment
  • Fill in as a Call Center Representative and cross-train in other areas as needed
  • Generate reports for accounting
  • Perform other duties as assigned
