Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • At least three years of progressive experience in a Rooms or Food and Beverage department at a hotel
  • or a four-year college degree with one to two years of experience in a Rooms or Food and Beverage department at a hotel
  • or a two-year college degree with at least two years of experience in a Rooms or Food and Beverage department at a hotel
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems
  • Ability to evaluate and select alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well under stress and maintain composure
  • Effective problem-solving skills in the workplace
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from multiple sources
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Basic financial and arithmetic skills
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with scheduling requirements
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including dress code and nametag compliance
  • Comply with hotel standards and safety regulations
  • Ensure certification requirements are met including Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR, and First Aid
  • Supervise and support Engineering and Housekeeping departments in absence of General Manager
  • Use training materials to develop operational competencies
  • Work with Department Heads to understand hotel operations
  • Assist in creating an empowered employee decision-making environment
  • Follow up on empowerment successes with appropriate Department Heads
  • Assist General Manager with financial reports and meet deadlines
  • Participate in Manager on Duty coverage
  • Ensure training in service standards in each department
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring and training for guest services
  • Participate in meetings to manage oversell settings
  • Foster a positive team-oriented environment focused on guest satisfaction
  • Support compliance with Preventative Maintenance and Deep Cleaning Programs
  • Ensure employees maintain courteous and efficient guest interactions
  • Be familiar with Standard Operating Procedures in all operations
  • Promote open communication and professional relationships
  • Ensure fair and equitable employee treatment
  • Complete corporate training and certification
  • Accept relocation for promotional opportunities
  • Greet guests and offer assistance during peak times
  • Maintain hotel safe handling procedures
  • Attend all scheduled property meetings
