Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college
  • Must be available a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Must be current as a pilot in the AC-130J within the previous two years or within the previous eight years with at least eight years of military operational flying duty and two years or 200 hours of experience as an in-flight instructor in AC-130J
  • Waivers possible for candidates with prior AC-130 experience or experience as an AC-130J contract instructor
  • Must be able to obtain an active SECRET clearance subject to government security investigation
  • Must meet eligibility requirements including US citizenship
  • Creative, responsive, and adaptive in a dynamic environment
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Current or recent AC-130J pilot experience within the previous two years or within the previous eight years with required operational flying duty and instructor experience
  • Experience as an in-flight instructor in AC-130J
  • Community College of the Air Force certified instructor (or willing to become certified)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments
  • Proficient in oral and written English communication

Job Duties

  • Provide instruction in AC-130J emergency procedures training
  • Provide instruction in systems operation
  • Provide instruction in instrument flight
  • Provide instruction in tactical operations
  • Provide academic and simulator refresher training to qualified AC-130J aircrew members
  • Assist in the Instructional Systems Design process in designing and developing AC-130J courseware
  • Perform other duties as directed by management
