Job Duties
- provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products and assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed including basic set-up and clean-up
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- records production and shrink for bakery
- assists in baking, frying, and decorating in bakery
- culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration
- takes care of service counter customers in deli
- uses ordering system applications and Fresh Production Planner
- performs inventory management processes
- prepares and ensures catering orders are ready for pickup
- sanitizes deli slicers
- serves and packages prepared foods
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions
- prepackages condiments
- cuts, slices, dices and chops food in prep for chef
