Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant mechanic certificate
  • current Inspection Authority certificate
  • minimum five years' experience in fixed-wing and rotary-wing aviation maintenance
  • military aircraft repair training or equivalent
  • ability to follow safety and regulatory compliance standards
  • ability to lift 10-15 pounds
  • ability to pass background check
  • agreement to periodic random drug testing

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or four years direct relevant experience
  • completed Military Aircraft Repairer Course or holds FAA A&P Mechanic Certificate
  • holds a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate
  • minimum five years direct relevant experience supporting fixed-wing and rotary wing aviation programs
  • received Inspection Authority training and possession of current IA certificate
  • minimum two years experience supporting General Aviation civilian programs
  • minimum two years experience performing maintenance operational checks and troubleshooting
  • ability to lift 10-15 pounds in performance of A&P duties
  • able to pass background security check
  • agrees to periodic random drug testing

Job Duties

  • Perform senior-level aircraft inspections on fixed-wing and rotary aircraft
  • oversee tracking of aircraft compliance with manufacturer and FAA regulations
  • provide technical guidance to aircraft mechanics and less experienced inspectors
  • support FAA Parts 61, 91, 133, 135, 137, and 141 compliance
  • inspect and approve aircraft and component repairs for major inspections per OEM and FAA standards
  • document quality control and approval actions in aircraft historical records
  • ensure conformity with Corporate and KBFS Safety Management System requirements
