Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Five to ten years of experience in aircraft maintenance, systems fabrication and installation
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred but not required
  • Flight line or flight test experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work a flexible work schedule
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong communication skills to partner with engineering
  • Experience with FOD and tool control discipline

Job Qualifications

  • Five plus years experience in aircraft systems troubleshooting, fabrication, installation and maintenance including fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/avionics, engine systems and airframe structures
  • Experience with line maintenance functions including preflight, post flight, launch and recovery of aircraft
  • Experience fabricating, maintaining, replacing or modifying aircraft structure or subsystems such as sheet metal work including bending, riveting, fasteners, metal treatment, and changing large LRU's and subsystems like flight control, landing gear, and pneumatic systems
  • Strong understanding and discipline in FOD and tool control
  • Detail oriented with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative including training and mentoring team members
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Physical capability to handle items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule

Job Duties

  • Installation, testing and maintenance of aircraft systems and components including fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/avionics, engine systems and airframe structures
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance operations on aircraft including inspections, repairs, Airworthiness directives, modifications and troubleshooting
  • Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems, components and structures to identify issues
  • Perform all line maintenance functions including preflight, post flight, launch and recovery of aircraft
  • Ensure proper and timely entry of maintenance performed in the Aircraft Maintenance Discrepancy Log
  • Operate power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments with expert proficiency
  • Maintain aircraft in accordance with work instructions, inspection plans and established standards such as AC 43-13
  • Interpret and follow electrical schematics for avionics installation
  • Operate ground handling equipment as required
  • Work in confined spaces or heights greater than 25 feet when necessary
  • Communicate and partner effectively with engineering to solve design and installation problems, reduce defects and improve build time
  • Serve as a subject matter expert applying extensive knowledge and experience
