Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • A&P license required
  • 5-10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, systems fabrication, installation
  • Preferred but not required IA certification
  • Preferred flight line or flight test experience
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to operate power tools and ground handling equipment

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in aircraft systems troubleshooting, fabrication, installation, and maintenance
  • Experience with fuel systems and components
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and components
  • Experience with pneumatic systems and components
  • Experience with electrical/avionics systems and components
  • Experience with engine systems and components
  • Experience with airframe and aircraft structures
  • Experience with line maintenance functions including preflight, post flight, launch, and recovery
  • Experience fabricating, maintaining, replacing, or modifying aircraft structures or sub-systems such as sheetmetal, bending, riveting, fasteners, treatment of metal
  • Strong understanding and discipline in FOD and tool control
  • Detail oriented with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to train and mentor team members
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Ability to handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work a flexible work schedule

Job Duties

  • Installation, testing, and maintenance of aircraft systems and components including fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/avionics, engine, airframe and aircraft structures
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance operations including inspections, repairs, Airworthiness directives, modifications, and troubleshooting
  • Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems, components, and structures to identify issues or potential problems
  • Perform all line maintenance functions including preflight, post flight, launch, and recovery of aircraft
  • Ensure proper and timely entry of maintenance performed in the Aircraft Maintenance Discrepancy Log (MDL)
  • Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments with expert proficiency
  • Maintain aircraft in accordance with work instructions, inspection plan, and established standards such as AC 43-13
  • Interpret and follow electrical schematics for avionics component installation
  • Operate ground handling equipment utilized to service the aircraft when required
  • Work in confined spaces or at heights greater than 25 feet
  • Communicate and partner effectively with Engineering to solve design/installation problems, reduce defects, and improve build time
  • Demonstrate expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) applying deep industry knowledge
