Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- ability to perform physical tasks associated with housekeeping duties
- ability to follow infection control and isolation procedures
- ability to operate cleaning equipment and use janitorial supplies
- able to communicate effectively in English
- basic computer skills including use of mouse and keyboard
- availability to work night shifts and rotating weekends
- reliable and able to document work performed
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the housekeeping field
- ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- able to communicate in English
- basic computer skills and proficiency with standard office software
Job Duties
- Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing surfaces
- stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and supplies in assigned areas
- demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment
- utilizes bed management system with handheld technology for tracking bed throughput
- collects and stages soiled linen for pick up
- disposes of normal and biohazardous waste
- cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids according to facility standards
- documents all work performed
- accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas
- performs other duties as assigned
