Job Requirements

  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to learn and follow standardized Army recipes
  • Experience or interest in cooking and food preparation
  • Basic understanding of health and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Bake fry braise boil simmer steam and saute as prescribed by Army recipes
  • Operate maintain and clean field kitchen equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment
  • Plan and prepare meals according to dietary and nutritional needs
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
  • Manage food and supply ordering and inventory
  • Store meats poultry and other perishable items appropriately
