Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
- No prior experience required
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA)
- Valid Driver’s License from the state of Oklahoma
- Paramedic certification from Oklahoma State Department of Health
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA)
- National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification
- Driving record verification via Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 25 lbs
- Occasional lifting and moving of patients
- Ability to communicate clearly using speech
- Occasional driving
- Capacity to perform physical tasks including bending, stooping and repetitive movements

Job Duties
- Provides emergency medical care for patients suffering from acute medical illness or traumatic injury
- Identifies and intervenes to stabilize patients based on department approved protocols during prehospital, interfacility or intrafacility transport under physician direction
- Maintains thorough patient care documentation for legal and billing purposes
- Inspects, operates, maintains and cares for emergency department and hospital equipment to ensure safety
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment to receiving treatment team
- Demonstrates and maintains knowledge and skills necessary to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient groups
- Collaborates with other emergency response agencies
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
