Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Two years experience in school food service or equivalent
  • Certification at level 2 or higher by American School Food Service Association standards or equivalent
  • Serv-Safe certification from the National Restaurant Association or equivalent
  • Ability to perform physical demands including standing, lifting and vision requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Two years of school food service experience or equivalent
  • Certification of level 2 or higher by American School Food Service Association standards or equivalent
  • Certified in Serv-Safe by the National Restaurant Association or equivalent as accepted by the School Board
  • Ability to meet physical demands including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds and specific vision abilities

Job Duties

  • Assist the cook manager with school meal program book work including daily recording of food served, ingredients used and numbers served
  • Store and inventory all food and supplies
  • Perform all phases of kitchen work including cleanup, dishwashing and sanitation
  • Cook food in quantities according to the menu and number of persons to be served
  • Monitor meals served to ensure proper food handling and portion control
