Job Requirements

  • Completion or proof of NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
  • Completion or proof of yearly concussion in sports training
  • Completion or proof of heat illness prevention training every 4 years
  • Successful district background check
  • Completion or proof of appearance and performance enhancing drugs and substances training every 4 years
  • Yearly Heads Up certification (football only)
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification every 2 years (paid coaches only)
  • Completion of Bend La Pine Safe Schools trainings yearly

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in coaching or athletic leadership role preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of the sport-specific rules and techniques
  • Commitment to fostering equity and inclusive practices
  • Ability to model and uphold high ethical standards
  • Understanding of high school athletic program dynamics
  • Experience with fundraising or program development beneficial

Job Duties

  • Hold high ethical and professional standards
  • Be an appropriate role model for high school student-athletes
  • Hold high expectations and accountability both behaviorally and academically for all student-athletes and coaching staff
  • Ability to develop, articulate, and implement a vision for your individual discipline
  • Ability to work in a cooperative and harmonious manner in an educationally based, school-wide athletic program
  • Experience in the specific discipline at high school level preferred
  • Be relationship/process oriented
  • Be involved in fundraising for the program
  • Communicate effectively with head coach and athletic director
  • Be an advocate for the multi-sport athlete
  • Be a supporter of the head coach and the direction they are taking the program
  • Other duties as assigned by Head Coach & Athletic Director
