Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid forklift operator certification or ability to obtain one
- Prior experience in forklift operation or material handling preferred
- Ability to follow safety protocols strictly
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy items
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Reliable and punctual
- Basic reading and writing skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience operating forklifts or industrial hoists in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
- Knowledge of safety practices related to material handling and equipment operation
- Ability to read and understand work orders and oral instructions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record production data
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection at all times
- Must follow all safe work practices
- Operates industrial fork truck or electric hoist safely to assist in loading or moving materials and products
- Inspects daily for the safe condition of industrial fork truck and notifies supervisor of all discrepancies or problems
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hoist and forklift
- Loads materials from or onto vehicles for company heavy truck operator
- Loads and unloads materials from vendor vehicles
- Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area
- Conveys scrap materials from work areas to outside dumpsters or bins
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination
- Counts and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, crates, or other containers
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together
