Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year housekeeping, linen, or other environmental service experience, preferably in a hospital setting
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of proper handling and disposing of medical infectious waste and soiled linen
- Ability to properly clean and disinfect areas of blood, bodily fluids, and other pathogens
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year housekeeping, linen, or other environmental service experience, preferably in a hospital setting
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and operating equipment after successful completion of 90 day training
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of proper handling and disposing of medical infectious waste and soiled linen
- Ability to properly clean and disinfect areas of blood, bodily fluids, and other pathogens
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
Job Duties
- Provide housekeeping services in patient rooms, both occupied and unoccupied, and assigned areas within the hospital and/or site campuses
- Cleaning may require exposure to blood, blood borne pathogens, and bodily fluids
- Provide housekeeping services in public areas including vacuuming, cleaning baseboards, vents, fans, and elevators
- Clean and disinfect isolation rooms such as Tuberculosis (TB), C-Diff, and COVID-19
- Exchange full sharp boxes for empty sharp boxes
- Deliver clean linen exchange carts to appropriate storage areas, maintain utility rooms in an orderly fashion
- Perform all other assigned duties related to Environmental Services
