Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year housekeeping, linen, or other environmental service experience, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of proper handling and disposing of medical infectious waste and soiled linen
  • Ability to properly clean and disinfect areas of blood, bodily fluids, and other pathogens
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year housekeeping, linen, or other environmental service experience, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and operating equipment after successful completion of 90 day training
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of proper handling and disposing of medical infectious waste and soiled linen
  • Ability to properly clean and disinfect areas of blood, bodily fluids, and other pathogens
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

Job Duties

  • Provide housekeeping services in patient rooms, both occupied and unoccupied, and assigned areas within the hospital and/or site campuses
  • Cleaning may require exposure to blood, blood borne pathogens, and bodily fluids
  • Provide housekeeping services in public areas including vacuuming, cleaning baseboards, vents, fans, and elevators
  • Clean and disinfect isolation rooms such as Tuberculosis (TB), C-Diff, and COVID-19
  • Exchange full sharp boxes for empty sharp boxes
  • Deliver clean linen exchange carts to appropriate storage areas, maintain utility rooms in an orderly fashion
  • Perform all other assigned duties related to Environmental Services
