Job Requirements
- Equivalent to a high school education or GED
- ability to read, write, and communicate
- ability to understand simple directions and basic mathematical concepts
- physical ability to stand, walk, and lift items up to 50 pounds
- ability to work safely around kitchen equipment
- possess or obtain an Oregon Food Handler's Permit
- willingness to undergo minimal on-the-job training
- willingness to attend food service workshops
- adherence to drug-free workplace policy
Job Qualifications

- ability to understand simple directions and basic mathematical concepts
- possess or obtain an Oregon Food Handler's Permit or maintain current ServSafe certification
- ability to operate kitchen equipment
- ability to supervise student helpers
- ability to read, understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- ability to accurately transfer, record and convey information, materials, and money
- willingness to attend regularly scheduled food service workshops
- adherence to district drug-free workplace requirements
Job Duties
- Performs routine food preparation duties
- serves food
- may need to process free and reduced applications
- performs cleaning and dish washing and other general duties in a kitchen or serving area
- may transport food to other school locations
- collects money and operates Meal software
- sells ala carte and snack bar items
- may assist with the opening and closing of the kitchen prior to the beginning and after the ending of each school year
- assists in the cleaning and storing of equipment and food supplies
- assists in the process of assuring an adequate supply of food items
- maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned operational area
- supervises student helpers
- maintains necessary records
- fulfills other related duties as assigned
- fulfills performance standards identified in the evaluation process as required by the position
