Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
  • minimum three years of warehouse supervisory experience
  • minimum three years of warehouse experience
  • ability to understand and execute shipping and receiving processes
  • sound decision making skills
  • ability to read and prepare shipping and receiving documentation
  • leadership ability
  • time management and multitasking skills
  • strong verbal and written communication
  • basic computer literacy
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • experience with barcode driven (RF) operations

  • in depth understanding of shipping and receiving processes and related equipment
  • ability to make sound decisions based on standard practices
  • ability to read and prepare shipping and receiving records and comprehend production schedules and pick sheets
  • strong leadership skills and ability to lead in a team based culture
  • ability to manage time effectively, coordinate multiple tasks, and adjust schedules to meet deadlines
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • basic computer skills
  • proficient in Microsoft Office
  • experience with barcode driven (RF) operations

Job Duties

  • assure that the labor is distributed evenly throughout assigned areas in order to process customer orders efficiently
  • complete daily schedule of employee work zones, organize and set up overtime crews and schedule temporary employees to efficiently complete workload
  • assure that all material received and shipped meets all quality specifications
  • provide assistance and guidance to warehouse employees to accomplish daily tasks and achieve goals
  • maintain high level of communication with management, peers and subordinates
  • conduct shift start up meetings and weekly updates ensuring timely communication of significant events
  • ensure ongoing and new hire training is completed and up-to-date
  • manage and make sound independent decisions relating to shipping and receiving issues
  • delegate responsibilities as needed
  • observe and evaluate warehouse processes and personnel
  • schedule employee vacations and supervise attendance issues
  • maintain accurate records and employee files
  • lead and motivate by example
  • ensure freight loaded on outbound trailers complies with DOT and customer shipping requirements
  • process daily employee issues and complaints and provide tactful feedback
  • facilitate and assist with special projects including customer requests and cost savings
  • coordinate product needs with production department for shipping
  • assist with hiring, advancement, transfer, promotion and termination decisions
  • schedule hours and close out employee timecards
  • evaluate employee performance
  • administer discipline as needed
  • assure a safe work environment and resolve issues
  • perform cycle counts
  • responsible for accurate and timely receipt of product
  • follow safety policies and procedures
  • produce products exceeding quality and value expectations by adhering to GMP and Safe Quality Food Program
  • other responsibilities as assigned by management
