Job Requirements

  • +2 years environmental service experience, preferably in a hospital setting
  • demonstrate basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and operating equipment after successful completion of 90 day training
  • ability to clean and disinfect areas of blood, bodily fluids, and other pathogens
  • demonstrated knowledge and understanding of proper handling and disposing of medical infectious waste and soiled linen
  • ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • ability to interact fairly and appropriately with people of all backgrounds

Job Duties

  • perform cleaning projects, providing support to coordinate and complete minor maintenance tasks, moves, and set ups
  • facilitate employee training and development
  • perform area inspections to evaluate and monitor quality performance, efficiency, customer satisfaction and infection control standards
  • maintain current area specific records, supply/equipment and inventory control
  • assist housekeeping and floor technicians with cleaning patient rooms, isolation rooms, and all other common areas
  • complete all other assigned duties related to Environmental Services
