Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 1-year previous experience as a fry cook
- ability to lift 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds on a cart
- ability to work in temperature ranges from -10 to 120 degrees
- ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks including stooping, bending and reaching heights of up to 6 feet
- normal or corrective vision without color blindness
- good eye-hand coordination
- normal sense of smell, taste, touch and sound
- ability to read, speak and communicate effectively
- ability to saute, broil and follow recipes
- ability to oversee kitchen operations in chef's absence
- knowledge of basic mother sauces and sauce production
- knowledge of food quality control and storage methods
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 1-year experience as a cook in a hotel or similar operation
- complete working knowledge of kitchen equipment, food production, sanitation and safety
- ability to obtain necessary government or county licenses or certificates
- effective communication skills
- ability to follow specific recipes and cooking methods
- knowledge of quality food products and storage standards
Job Duties
- prepare requested guest orders
- ensure proper service standards in all guest experiences
- maintain all food and beverage operations up to health department standards
- ensure valid work cards are carried at all times during shifts
- conduct oneself professionally and positively
- observe and enforce safety rules and regulations
- maintain kitchen areas in compliance with health codes
- adhere to grooming and uniform standards
- have full knowledge of material safety data sheets and locations
- display knowledge of emergency procedures
- treat staff with dignity, respect and fairness
- foster open-door policy
- work productively with supervisors and peers
- encourage teamwork within departments
- maintain knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment
- communicate effectively with supervisors and staff for shift transitions
