Job Requirements

  • must be at least 21 years old by May 1, 2026
  • legally authorized to work in the United States
  • ability to complete and pass background, security, and drug tests
  • ability to work outdoors on active construction sites carrying up to 40 pounds
  • able to stand for extended periods during inspections
  • available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime from mid-May to mid-August 2026
  • available to work from San Bernardino office or assigned project sites
  • possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • able to travel as needed for site visits and construction administration

Job Qualifications

  • undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a transportation emphasis
  • strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • previous experience or training with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Microstation
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to interpret construction documents accurately
  • experience working on construction sites preferred
  • valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Job Duties

  • assist in developing preliminary and final designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • perform calculations for project dimensions, elevations, earthwork, utilities, and track quantities
  • assist with site assessments and surveys
  • support construction administration tasks including monitoring construction progress and identifying challenges
  • collaborate with civil engineers and technicians on a variety of transportation projects
  • prepare technical reports and specifications
  • engage effectively in team discussions and presentations
