Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience with baseball rules and gameplay
- Experience operating Windows OS and Windows-based software
- Proficiency with iPhone applications
- Previous exposure to a professional or college sports environment
- Ability to regularly attend games in person including evenings and weekends
- Technical troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication and cooperation with team members
- Commitment to professional conduct and dependable attendance
Job Qualifications
- Exceptional and demonstrable knowledge of baseball and its rules
- Strong computer proficiency with Windows OS and Windows-based software
- Ability to quickly learn and operate new software
- Exceptional knowledge of iPhone operation
- Previous experience with a professional or college sports team, preferably baseball
- Regular availability to attend games in person on weekdays, nights, and weekends
- Ability to assist in troubleshooting equipment, especially under pressure
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude and willingness to learn from mistakes
- Professionalism and reliability in a high-profile environment
Job Duties
- Arrive at ballpark approx. 2 hours prior to first pitch and check-in with remote MLB support staff
- Conduct pre-game fax of equipment including escalation and troubleshooting of system issues as necessary
- Assist umpire with set-up
- Operate the ABS application to track and enter data such as no audio, slow or delayed audio, and pitch call issue flags
- Communicate with MLB staff to ensure proper support of umpire as well as entry and accuracy of all data
- Hold postgame meeting with umpire
- Communicate any questions, issues, problems, or feedback to game-night support staff to improve ABS operations
- Submit a detailed post-game report
- Routine day-to-day correspondence by email, Slack, voice call, and/or text message to coordinate coverage schedules and assignments
- Perform other game-day responsibilities during Spring Training, regular season, and/or Postseason as directed by Data Operations supervisor
