Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, airport administration, or related field
  • Eight to ten years of progressively responsible experience in airport administration
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Ability to manage comprehensive airport operations independently
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, airport administration, or related field
  • Master’s degree or graduate work in a related field is preferred
  • Eight to ten years of progressively responsible experience in airport administration
  • Thorough knowledge of management, operation, and maintenance of large scale airport facilities
  • Strong background in public financial management, budget preparation, and fiscal control
  • Considerable knowledge of airport capital improvement planning and project funding
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding airport operation
  • Experience with industrial land promotion and development strategies
  • Proficient in modern public and/or business administration practices

Job Duties

  • Plans, directs, controls, and inspects the overall operations and maintenance of the airport
  • Supervises all airport personnel involved in the administration, operation, and maintenance operations of the airport and airport property
  • Administers all leases and contracts governing airport operations
  • Develops and promotes aviation activities in commercial and general aviation areas
  • Enforces federal, state, and local rules and regulations governing airport use
  • Draws up requests for federal or state aid, including letters of justification and cost analyses
  • Formulates policy recommendations for Airport Authority consideration
