Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering or planning or closely related field
  • Minimum eight years in major planning, architecture or engineering including at least four years managerial or supervisory experience
  • Ability to coordinate airport construction with government agencies
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance
  • Proven leadership skills in technical and administrative program coordination
  • Ability to represent department before public and professional groups

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, or closely related field
  • Minimum eight years experience in major planning, architecture or engineering roles
  • At least four years of managerial or supervisory experience
  • Thorough knowledge of airport construction and engineering principles
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local aviation regulations
  • Experience in budgeting, cost accounting, financial planning and management
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices
  • Working knowledge of aviation planning

Job Duties

  • Administers Broward County Aviation Department programs for strategic planning and capital improvements
  • Directs planning, scheduling, and coordination of departmental activities
  • Develops policies, procedures, and priorities to meet goals
  • Provides leadership and oversight of strategic, fiscal, and capital projects
  • Manages economic impact analysis and represents BCAD to governmental agencies
  • Engages with community groups and professional committees
  • Serves as Acting Chief Development Officer in absence of Chief Development Officer
