Job Requirements

  • some lifting, bending, standing in one place required
  • ability to follow the guidelines of The National School Lunch Program and The ND Department of Public Instruction
  • willingness to communicate with the Food Service Director, Kitchen Manager, Cashier Manager, coworkers, building staff, and delivery personnel in a professional and respectful manner
  • ability to maintain confidentiality in the school operation

Job Qualifications

  • preference for high school graduate, but not required
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • ability to stand for long periods of time
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • ability to precisely follow health and hygiene practices

Job Duties

  • assist in the final preparation before serving meals
  • assist in preparing meals for satellite locations
  • assist in prepping and preparing fresh fruits and vegetables daily for breakfast and/or lunch
  • assist in stocking ala carte items and maintain inventory
  • assist in monitoring tray accuracy, items on the tray meet reimbursable meal requirements
  • maintain daily production records for breakfast and lunch
  • assist with dishwashing and clean-up of the kitchen area throughout the day and after meals have been served
