Job Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Work Permit
  • Valid health card or Serve Safe equivalent required
  • Hepatitis A vaccination required
  • Must provide and maintain a valid ServSafe certificate within six months of hire
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Employment contingent upon favorable background investigation
  • Must follow drug-free workplace policies

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred high school diploma or GED
  • Culinary Arts or Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
  • Minimum two years related experience or training
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft programs and software
  • Diverse cooking skills including high-volume experience
  • Skilled in problem-solving under pressure
  • Ability to work with mathematical food concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all organizational levels and the public

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with tribal, state, and KGCC regulations and policies
  • Perform various cooking methods as required
  • Follow recipes and control procedures accurately
  • Prepare or display food to specifications
  • Assist Chef in preparing specialty dishes
  • Rotate food products daily ensuring quality
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines according to FDA and HACCP
  • Perform quality control checks before, during, and after food production
  • Train and work with the Prep / Cook Team
  • Review kitchen operations continually for improvements
  • Perform assigned tasks from Chef and Food & Beverage Manager
  • Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May act as lead cook for shifts with limited Chef responsibilities
  • Participate as a panelist for Internal Review Hearings
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
