Job Requirements

  • Two to four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience
  • minimum of three years experience in a food and beverage leadership role or related management position
  • ability to perform critical analysis and manage a wide range of information
  • advanced knowledge of business and management principles and practices involving strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
  • possess excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
  • ability to delegate, manage manpower, organize complex projects, and establish priorities consistent with department and hotel objectives
  • ability to listen effectively
  • operate department within guidelines of Foundation Document
  • communicate professionally and positively to guests and associates

Job Duties

  • Recruit, select, orient, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline associates
  • communicate job expectations, duties, and responsibilities
  • plan, monitor, appraise, and review job contributions
  • enforce policies and procedures
  • contribute information and recommendations to strategic plans
  • prepare and complete action plans
  • implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • resolve problems
  • complete audits
  • identify trends and determine system improvements
  • prepare annual budgets and analyze variances
  • forecast requirements and schedule expenditures
  • initiate corrective actions
  • ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage commission regulations
  • ensure portion control and monitor accuracy of charges to maximize bar profitability
  • publicize the restaurant through advertisements and media contacts
  • maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by enforcing sanitation standards
  • supervise maintenance of restaurant equipment
  • participate in educational opportunities and professional organizations
  • investigate and resolve guest inquiries and complaints
  • update cash management systems and generate reports
  • establish standards for personnel performance and guest service
  • perform Manager-on-Duty functions and shifts as assigned
