Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and stock up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push and bend frequently
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have good communication skills
- Ability to follow food safety standards
- For positions involving alcohol service, must be 21 years of age
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous bakery experience is an asset
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to follow recipes and baking instructions accurately
- Basic math skills for scaling and inventory management
- Team player with a friendly and responsible attitude
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Job Duties
- Mixing, weighing, proofing, baking, frying, decorating, finishing and merchandising quality bakery products using Bashas' recipes
- Loading and unloading the oven, knowing the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of product
- Scaling cakes and cupcakes, icing sweet rolls, breads and cookies
- Assisting in the ordering and receiving of bakery products and supplies
- Controlling product inventory and out of stocks, shrink and supplies
- Using scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct
- Understanding the importance and monitoring of product pricing, signage and placement as well as the use of product shelf tags and shelf signage
- Keeping a clean, neat and orderly bench, production area, storage area, and walk-in coolers and freezers
- Helping in the wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them as necessary to ensure quality and safety
- Displaying goods following bakery department and/or merchandising guidelines
- Helping decorators with personalization of cakes and icing of cakes, donuts, sweet rolls and etc
- All other related duties as assigned
