Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol
- Ability to stand, sit, lift up to 50 lbs, push, keyboard, use telephone, walk and bend for extended periods
- Must be responsible and friendly
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Current leader endorsement required for internal transfers, promotions, and rehires
- Rehire approval by HR business partner required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous baking experience preferred
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Basic math skills for scaling and measuring ingredients
- Ability to operate bakery equipment safely
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Job Duties
- Mixing, weighing, proofing, baking, frying, decorating, finishing and merchandising quality bakery products using Bashas' recipes
- Loading and unloading the oven, knowing the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of product
- Scaling cakes and cupcakes, icing sweet rolls, breads and cookies
- Assisting in the ordering and receiving of bakery products and supplies
- Controlling product inventory and managing out of stocks, shrink and supplies
- Using scale printer machine, ensuring weights and pricing are correct
- Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement including shelf tags and shelf signage
- Keeping a clean, neat and orderly bench, production area, storage area, and walk-in coolers and freezers
- Wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery department products, rotating them to ensure quality and safety
- Displaying goods following bakery department or merchandising guidelines
- Helping decorators with personalization and icing of cakes, donuts, sweet rolls and other products
- Performing all other related duties as assigned
