Job Requirements
- Must be over the age of 21
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving heavy items
- ability to work any shifts on Fridays and Saturdays
- available for 80 percent or more of all scheduled shifts
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions
- maintain valid TABC permit and food handler permit if required
- reliable attendance and timeliness
- ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- willing to learn and follow management directives
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- retail sales experience preferred but not required
- strong product knowledge a plus
- ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions and memos
- effective communication skills with coworkers and guests
- bilingual skills are a plus
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- ability to calculate discounts and percentages
- smiley, friendly and helpful demeanor
- responsible, reliable and committed to extraordinary service
- patience and outgoing personality
- self-starter with strong work ethic
- ability to complete tasks timely and seek new tasks
- knowledge of safety regulations a plus
- maintain valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit
- valid Food Handlers Permit in some cases
Job Duties
- Know and actively demonstrate daily the company mission statement and core values
- maintain uniform standards as detailed in the employee manual
- demonstrate superior product knowledge
- greet guests with a smile and helpful demeanor
- recommend merchandise based on guest needs focusing on in-house brands
- answer guests questions about price and merchandise use
- create client relationships with regular guests
- carry products to register counters and out for guests when needed
- run a cash register as required
- receive merchandise as needed
- prepare promotional events
- set up displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales
- front merchandise and rotate stock
- maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock
- clean shelves, bottles, aisles and tables
- maintain readable price tags
- provide feedback to management regarding product movement and stock levels
- prepare sales floor and storage for inventory and assist with inventory process
- use and maintain computer and scanner equipment
- seek continual skill improvement
- avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present
- limit use of personal cell phones during work
- carry out management directives efficiently
- fulfill responsibilities with care and detail
- practice teamwork and cooperation
- manage time and prioritize tasks
- manage stress in fast-paced environment
- work according to safety regulations
- perform regular physical activities involving lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally 100 pounds or more
- communicate effectively with team and guests
- complete other tasks assigned by management including cleaning bathrooms
- maintain attendance and punctuality
- this is not a remote position
