Job Requirements
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English sufficiently
- detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- ability to stand for extended periods
- able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds
- ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods
- able to bend, kneel, stoop, and reach including overhead
- ability to work in varying and extreme temperatures
- ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions
- must obtain and maintain Food Safety Certification if 18 years or older
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in convenience store, restaurant, or fast food environment preferred
- basic mathematical skills
- knowledge of food safety principles
- strong customer service skills
- ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- experience operating food production equipment preferred
- effective communication skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- problem-solving and de-escalation skills
Job Duties
- Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- arrive to work on time consistently
- follow GATE standards for uniform and appearance
- attend required training, safety courses, and meetings
- prioritize GATE customers to guarantee continued patronage
- provide positive customer interactions and resolve complaints
- greet customers and assist with product questions
- ensure a friendly and efficient checkout experience
- contribute to a positive team environment
- communicate accurately with customers and staff
- apply problem-solving and de-escalation skills
- comply with federal, state, and local laws and company policies
- obtain and maintain Food Safety Certification if age 18 or older
- keep store clean and well-stocked
- perform minor repairs on store equipment
- maintain cleanliness including restrooms, floors, windows, and storage rooms
- prevent spoilage of ingredients through proper storage
- operate cash register and handle payments according to policies
