Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • previous food service management experience

  • customer service, restaurant, barista, food service, grocery or similar experience desired

  • ability to reliably meet work schedule and adhere to attendance policy

Job Duties

  • Directing department personnel
  • meeting department's goals and objectives
  • communicating directly with the store director and deli/bistro department supervisors
  • selecting, on-boarding and coaching new team members
  • scheduling all team members
  • ordering products and supplies to maintain stock levels and merchandising standards
  • maintaining a positive and friendly attitude towards customers and team members
  • engaging with customers through smiles, greetings, product information, selling suggestions, active sampling and gratitude
  • overseeing preparation and serving/merchandising of deli/bistro food items
  • merchandising, slicing and weighing deli meats and cheeses
  • displaying deli/bistro merchandise following merchandising guidelines
  • rotating deli/bistro items ensuring quality, safety and shrink control
  • ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation policies
  • receiving merchandise, auditing invoices, stocking storage and coolers
  • processing cash register transactions accurately
  • ensuring correct weights and pricing using scale printer machine
  • monitoring product pricing, signage and placement
  • keeping sales counters and prep areas clean and orderly
  • ensuring safety procedures and equipment usage
  • taking customer orders and ensuring satisfaction
  • performing other related duties as assigned
