Job Requirements

  • Valid Food Service Worker Permit or Temporary FSWP obtainable within the first week for West Virginia locations excluding Berkeley/Morgan County
  • ServSafe Person In Charge certification obtainable within 90 days for Ohio locations
  • Valid Food Service Worker Permit or equivalent for Maryland locations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to push fully loaded tray cart weighing approximately 250 lbs
  • Willingness to enter isolation precaution patient rooms with proper protective equipment
  • Ability to maintain sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication
  • Basic computer skills including use of keyboard, mouse, tablet and applications such as Microsoft Word
  • Telephone skills including use of speaker phones, headsets and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work effectively in a team to deliver high quality food and service
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepares all work areas for operation including filling bucket with sanitizing solution and maintaining sanitizer strength
  • Sets up area including utensils, restocks, cleans and organizes assigned area maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift
  • Produces and maintains attractive, appetizing and quality food and beverage products
  • Follows menu cycle, proper portions and standardized recipes preparing food items in batch production
  • Greets customers, politely asks for order and efficiently serves customer
  • Addresses customer complaints in a polite professional manner and seeks management assistance when needed
  • Cleans spills promptly, posts appropriate caution signage and removes trash from service areas promptly
  • Merchandises area through clean, uncluttered, attractive and orderly arrangement of work area
  • Ensures all activities meet sanitation, safety and quality control guidelines set forth by departmental policies
  • Documents refrigerator, dish machine or other equipment temperatures as assigned and alerts facilities and management of malfunctioning equipment
  • Properly operates, cleans and stores equipment in assigned area
  • Properly stores and labels food items and chemicals
