Job Requirements
- Must have some experience in the production of quantity foods
- possess current Food Handler's Card from Ohio County Health Department
- ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- pass the approved West Virginia Service Personnel Tests for School Cook unless currently classified
- evidence of ability to adhere to federal, state, and local laws and policies
- clear background check
- outstanding attendance and punctuality record
- any combination of training and experience leading to successful employment as a cook
- willing to work a flexible schedule
- ability to handle medium-heavy work capacity
Job Qualifications

- ability to relate successfully to students and coworkers

Job Duties
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district laws and policies
- maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and cafeteria with daily cleaning and sanitizing and heavy cleaning when applicable
- use effectively all kitchen equipment
- operate the POS after training
- assist with determining food quantities to be prepared daily
- prepare and serve food according to planned menus and proper serving sizes
- report faulty or inferior quality food to Cafeteria Manager or Child Nutrition Office
- participate in staff development training
- demonstrate interest in the school and welfare of children
- lift food containers and equipment
- assist Light Truck Driver with loading or unloading
- assist in maintaining inventory
- work in various temperatures including freezers and near hot cooking equipment
- maintain positive work habits
- perform duties efficiently and productively
- maintain and upgrade required skills
- establish effective working relationships
- perform other duties as assigned by Principal, Child Nutrition Administrator, and Cafeteria Manager
