About Zuma Restaurants

Zuma Restaurants is a renowned chain of contemporary Japanese izakaya-style dining establishments, offering a sophisticated twist on traditional Japanese cuisine. Founded in 2002 by chef Rainer Becker and investor Arjun Waney, the first Zuma location opened in London's Knightsbridge area.

The concept was developed by Becker during his six years working in Tokyo, where he immersed himself in Japanese cuisine and culture.

The restaurant features three kitchens: the main kitchen, the sushi counter, and the robata grill. Zuma has expanded globally, with 14 permanent outlets and 8 seasonal locations in various cities worldwide.

Zuma's menu offers a variety of dishes, including teriyaki options such as chicken, beef, and shrimp, bento boxes, dumplings, tempura, and a selection of sushi rolls. The restaurant also provides vegan and vegetarian options, ensuring a diverse dining experience for all guests.

The ambiance at Zuma reflects the brand's ethos, blending traditional craftsmanship with urban modernity. The interior space is crafted in collaboration with Noriyoshi Muramatsu and Tokyo design company Super Potato. This results in a stylish environment considering every aspect from staff uniforms to walls and tableware.
