YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF WICHITA KANSAS

Facilities and Programs

The Greater Wichita YMCA operates several state-of-the-art facilities, each providing unique amenities and programs designed to support health and wellness.

• Robert D. Love Downtown YMCA: Features an aerobics center, fitness center, multi-purpose room, gymnasium, handball and racquetball courts, indoor running track, pools, sauna, weight room, and whirlpool. Offers programs in aquatics, before and after-school care, community development, family strengthening, health and well-being, and sports and recreation.
• Steve Clark YMCA and Student Wellness Center: Located on Wichita State University campus, includes an aerobics center, family locker rooms, fitness center, multi-purpose room, gymnasium, indoor running track, and weight room. Programs focus on community development, family strengthening, health and well-being, sports and recreation, and youth and teen development.
• Dennis Schoenebeck North YMCA: Equipped with aerobics center, climbing walls, child watch, family locker rooms, fitness center, multi-purpose room, gymnasium, handball and racquetball courts, indoor running track, outdoor field, pool, sauna, weight room, and whirlpool. Programs include aquatics, arts and humanities, before and after-school care, community development, family strengthening, health and well-being, sports and recreation, and youth and teen development.
• West Branch YMCA: Offers aerobics center, child watch, family locker rooms, fitness center, multi-purpose room, gymnasium, handball and racquetball courts, indoor running track, pool, sauna, weight room, and whirlpool. Programs focus on aquatics, arts and humanities, before and after-school care, community development, family strengthening, health and well-being, sports and recreation, and youth and teen development.
• Ken Shannon Northwest YMCA: Features aerobics center, climbing walls, child watch, family locker rooms, fitness center, multi-purpose room, gymnasium, handball and racquetball courts, indoor running track, outdoor field, pool, early childhood center, sauna, weight room, teen center, and whirlpool. Programs offered include aquatics, before and after-school care, community development, family strengthening, health and well-being, sports and recreation, and youth and teen development.
• East Branch YMCA: Provides aerobics center, child watch, fitness center, gymnasium, indoor running track, outdoor field, pool, early childhood center, sauna, weight room, teen center, and whirlpool. Programs cover aquatics, before and after-school care, community development, family strengthening, health and well-being, sports and recreation, and youth and teen development.

Community Impact and Initiatives

The Greater Wichita YMCA is committed to community empowerment and support. In 2024, it invested $30 million in renovations and expansions to enhance facilities and programs, emphasizing youth and children.

This initiative includes:

• Renovation of the Early Learning Center at the Richard A. DeVore South YMCA
• Addition of new turf fields near the Northwest YMCA to support youth sports
• Plans to acquire Camp Hiawatha to expand programs and camps for families and youth
