World Cafe Live

World Cafe Live is a nonprofit independent venue dedicated to live music, education, and community engagement. Since its opening in 2004, it has been a vibrant hub for live music in Philadelphia, supporting both emerging and established artists. The venue offers a unique mix of concerts and events, typically operating from Tuesday through Saturday.

Location and Venue Spaces

Located at 3025 Walnut Street in Philadelphia's University City District, World Cafe Live comprises two distinct spaces: The Lounge and the Music Hall.

The Lounge is an intimate venue that doubles as a full-service restaurant and bar, accommodating up to 220 guests. It features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Walnut Street, providing a city-chic setting for enjoying live music and dining. The Lounge is open Tuesday through Saturday, starting at 6 pm.

The Music Hall, situated on the lower level, is a larger three-tiered venue that hosts nationally touring and legacy artists. This dynamic space offers flexible seating arrangements, including table seating, standing room, and combinations thereof, accommodating up to 650 guests.

The mezzanine level provides a VIP experience with spacious seating, a private bar, pre-show dining area, and restrooms. The Music Hall is accessible via the main entrance on Walnut Street or through the lower level on 31st Street.

Education and Community Engagement

In addition to its live music offerings, World Cafe Live is committed to music education and community engagement. Its signature music education programs provide accessible opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

The venue also hosts a variety of special events, including:

• Viernes Calientes - a Latin dance party with a rotating guest DJ and live music
• Live music and rotating guest DJ on first Fridays
• Philly Rising Open Mic presented in partnership with REC Philly on first Tuesdays
• Jazz Jam featuring an original performance plus an open jam session on second Thursdays
