About Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association

The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the University of Wisconsin–Madison by fostering engagement and financial support from alumni, donors, and friends.

Established in 2014 through the merger of the University of Wisconsin Foundation and the Wisconsin Alumni Association, WFAA combines the strengths of both entities to enhance the university's status as a world-class institution.

WFAA's mission is to promote the welfare and advance the objectives of UW–Madison by encouraging the interest, engagement, and financial support of alumni, donors, and friends in the life of the university and with each other.

Locations

The organization operates from four locations in close proximity to UW–Madison's campus:

  • 1848 University Avenue: The primary office housing staff from development, marketing, finance, IT, and other departments.
  • 650 N. Lake Street: Home to One Alumni Place, a public facility and event space that highlights the alumni experience.
  • 701 State Street: Location of Badger Call, the UW Foundation's student call center, raising more than $2 million annually for the university.
  • Capitol Square: Houses the investment team responsible for managing the university's investment portfolios.

Through these offices, WFAA engages with a global community of over 450,000 alumni, offering programs, communications, and publications that connect alumni to the university and each other.

Initiatives such as the "On Wisconsin" magazine, which reaches more than 395,000 readers worldwide, and the "Alumni Awards Magazine" highlight the accomplishments of alumni and supporters.
