Wilmette Park District

The Wilmette Park District, established in 1908, is a special district of local government dedicated to enriching the quality of community life in Wilmette, Illinois.

It manages over 300 acres of parks and open spaces, including notable areas such as Gillson Park, Keay Nature Center, and the Community Playfield.

Facilities

• Community Recreation Center: Located at 3000 Glenview Road, this center features a 10,000-square-foot gymnastics facility and offers various programs for all ages.
• Centennial Recreation Complex: Situated at 2300 Old Glenview Road, this complex houses ice rinks, tennis courts, and aquatics facilities, providing year-round recreational opportunities.
• Mallinckrodt Center: Found at 1041A Ridge Road, this center serves as a community hub, hosting various programs and events.
• Wilmette Golf Club: Located at 3900 Fairway Drive, this facility offers golf courses and related amenities for enthusiasts.
• Wilmette Platform Tennis Club: At 3551 Lake Avenue, this club provides platform tennis facilities, including four paddle tennis courts and a warming hut.

In addition to these facilities, the district oversees numerous neighborhood parks throughout Wilmette. Each offers unique amenities and green spaces for residents.

Commitment to Inclusivity

The Wilmette Park District partners with the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) to provide year-round recreation programs and services for children, teens, and adults with disabilities.

These programs include recreation, sports, cultural, and social events designed to foster skill development, leisure, and friendship.

Community Gardening

The district manages two community gardens located at Centennial Park and the Community Playfield. These gardens offer residents the opportunity to engage in horticulture and connect with nature.
