About WellLife Network

WellLife Network is a comprehensive health and human services organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals and families across New York City and Long Island. Established in 1980 as the Professional Service Center for the Handicapped, Inc., the organization rebranded to WellLife Network in 2017 to better reflect its expanded mission and services.

Operating over 300 locations, WellLife Network offers a wide array of programs designed to meet the diverse needs of the communities it serves. These programs encompass mental health and substance use disorder services, children and family services, support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, housing assistance, and community education and resources.

Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Services

WellLife Network provides personalized behavioral health services for individuals coping with emotional challenges, as well as comprehensive substance use disorder services. Their addiction recovery clinics offer group, individual, and family therapy, along with medication-assisted therapy, including Vivitrol maintenance and Suboxone induction/maintenance.

These clinics have successfully served approximately 1,500 individuals with substance abuse issues, achieving a 60% success rate in outpatient substance use discontinuation, surpassing the New York State average of 25%.

Children and Family Services

The organization assists children and youth with serious emotional and behavioral challenges through a continuum of services aimed at developing coping skills and promoting independence. Programs include care coordination, crisis intervention, skill building, family education and support, and respite care.

The LINK/Home-Based Crisis Intervention program provides intensive, short-term crisis intervention and stabilization, family education, and service linkages to prevent psychiatric hospitalization for individuals aged 5 to 21 in Suffolk County.

Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services

WellLife Network offers programs and services that promote personal growth, self-respect, and dignity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These services include Medicaid Service Coordination, Community Habilitation, In-Home Hourly Respite, Individualized Support Services, and Family Reimbursement.

The Medicaid Service Coordination program helps individuals access vital services and supports, plan for their future, and develop individualized service plans. Community Habilitation provides one-on-one life skills coaching at home to assist individuals in developing independence and maintaining life skills.

Housing Services

The organization maintains residences that provide 24/7 care for youth facing serious mental health challenges, aiming to enhance their social, emotional, and behavioral development with the goal of returning them to their families.

Additionally, WellLife Network has expanded its housing initiatives, including the White Plains Road Apartments in Williamsbridge, an $87 million, 8-story supportive housing development providing 136 affordable homes, including 82 supportive units for formerly homeless individuals.

Community Education and Resources

WellLife Network provides training to support the communities it serves, offering workshops on topics such as suicide prevention, mental health first aid, parenting, and adolescents at risk.
