U.S.VETS

U.S.VETS is the nation's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and ending veteran homelessness. Established in 1992, U.S.VETS has grown from a single facility to 40 residential and service centers across 18 locations in seven states.

The states include Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, as well as Washington D.C. and the U.S. Territory of Guam.

Mission

The organization's mission is to empower veterans and their families through housing, comprehensive services, and advocacy. The goal is to help veterans regain and maintain independence.

Core Services Offered by U.S.VETS

• Housing: U.S.VETS employs a Housing First approach to rapidly move veterans from unstable living situations into permanent housing. Programs offer both temporary and permanent solutions for at-risk, low-income, and unhoused veterans and families.
• Employment Support: Through the Career Development Initiative, the organization prepares transitioning service members and veterans for the civilian job market. It connects them with veteran-friendly employers and provides resources to launch fulfilling civilian careers.
• Mental Health Services: U.S.VETS offers individual and group counseling, life skills classes, and peer-to-peer support. Licensed staff are trained to work with veterans with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders.
• Comprehensive Case Management: Individualized case management helps veterans set goals, identify barriers, and receive support needed to achieve self-sufficiency.
