The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is a public land-grant research university located in Paradise, Nevada, approximately 1.6 miles east of the Las Vegas Strip. Established in 1957, UNLV has grown into a comprehensive institution offering a wide range of academic programs and services.
Academic Programs and Degrees
UNLV provides 78 undergraduate majors and 84 minors, along with over 197 graduate degree and certificate programs. The university is home to several specialized schools, including:
- William S. Boyd School of Law: The only law school in Nevada, offering Juris Doctor (J.D.) degrees and dual degrees such as J.D./MBA and J.D./M.S.W.
- School of Nursing: Established in 1965, offering Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and PhD degrees.
- Lee Business School: Established in 1967, providing ten undergraduate majors, 14 minors, and seven graduate programs, including an MBA with various concentrations.
