Thornton Fractional Township High School District 215, commonly known as T.F. District 215, is a public school district located in Cook County, Illinois. It serves the communities of Calumet City, Burnham, and Lansing. Established in 1926, the district has a rich history of providing quality education.

The district comprises two main high schools: Thornton Fractional North High School and Thornton Fractional South High School. In addition, it operates two specialized centers: the Center for Academics and Technology and the Center for Alternative Learning.

These institutions collectively serve approximately 3,276 students in grades 9 through 12, with a student-teacher ratio of 15:1.

High Schools

Thornton Fractional North High School (T.F. North) is located at 755 Pulaski Road in Calumet City and has been serving the community since 1926. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum to prepare students for post-secondary education and careers. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school enrolled 1,389 students.

Thornton Fractional South High School (T.F. South) is situated at 18500 Burnham Avenue in Lansing and opened in 1958. It provides a range of academic programs and extracurricular activities to foster student growth and success. In the 2022-2023 school year, T.F. South enrolled 1,927 students.

Specialized Centers

The district operates two centers to support specialized education:

• Center for Academics and Technology (CAT): Located between the two high schools in Calumet City, it offers Advanced Placement courses, career and technical education, and support services.
