The Yale Club of New York City

The Yale Club of New York City, established in 1897, is a private club located in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Its membership is primarily composed of alumni and faculty from Yale University. It fosters a vibrant community that celebrates the spirit of Yale in the heart of Manhattan.

Building and Location

The club's 22-story neoclassical clubhouse at 50 Vanderbilt Avenue, opened in 1915, was the world's largest clubhouse upon its completion. It remains the largest college clubhouse ever built. The building is a New York City-designated landmark.

It is situated across from Grand Central Terminal and the MetLife Building, making it a prominent fixture in Midtown Manhattan.

The club hosts nearly 300 member events annually, ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale lectures and parties. Events often include diplomats, filmmakers, scientists, and celebrity chefs sharing their work.

There are also student groups continuing Yale's tradition of song and performance. The club offers a variety of Member Interest Groups, including book clubs and language tables.
