About The Venetian Las Vegas
The Venetian Las Vegas is a luxury hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Opened in 1999, it was developed by businessman Sheldon Adelson through his company, Las Vegas Sands, built on the former site of the Sands Hotel and Casino.
Designed to emulate the grandeur of Venice, Italy, the resort features replicas of iconic Venetian landmarks including the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Campanile.
A central highlight is the Grand Canal Shoppes, an upscale shopping mall offering over 200 stores and services across three floors. Visitors can enjoy gondola rides along the indoor canals, providing a unique shopping experience reminiscent of Venice.
The Venetian boasts a 120,000-square-foot casino, offering a wide range of gaming options. The resort also features entertainment venues like the Venetian Theatre, which has hosted shows such as "Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular" and "Rock of Ages."
Dining options are diverse, including Bouchon, a French bistro by chef Thomas Keller, and Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, known for its Southern-inspired cuisine.
In 2024, The Venetian and its sister property, The Palazzo, became the last major resorts on the Las Vegas Strip to unionize, signing labor contracts with the Culinary Workers Union.
