The Salvation Army Eastern Territory

The Salvation Army Eastern Territory is a regional division of The Salvation Army, an international Christian organization dedicated to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and meeting human needs in His name without discrimination.

Established in 1880, the Eastern Territory serves communities across 12 Northeastern states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, parts of Kentucky, as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Leadership and Headquarters

Operating under the leadership of Commissioner Lawrence R. Moretz, the Eastern Territorial Headquarters is located in West Nyack, New York.

This administrative hub oversees a vast network of service units, including over 400 corps community centers (Salvation Army churches) and approximately 300 thrift stores.
