Established in 1972, The Door's mission is to empower young people to reach their potential by offering comprehensive youth development services within a diverse and caring environment.

Serving up to 11,000 youth annually across its multiple locations, the organization addresses the complex challenges faced by young New Yorkers through a holistic and integrated approach.

Services Offered

The Door provides a comprehensive suite of services designed to support the diverse needs of young individuals:

• Career & Education: high school equivalency programs, college and future pathways guidance, jobs, internships, and youth leadership development.
• Counseling, Health & Nutrition: health services, counseling, transgender health and gender-affirming services, and food and nutrition programs.
