About The Dixboro Project

The Dixboro Project is a visionary dining and leisure destination located in the historic village of Dixboro, Michigan, just outside of Ann Arbor. Spanning nearly 7 acres of picturesque woodlands along Fleming Creek, the project comprises three distinct dining concepts: The Boro, The Boro To Go, and Dixboro House.

Dining Concepts

The Boro serves as the centerpiece, housed within a meticulously restored 19th-century barn dating back to the 1880s. This space combines rustic charm with modern elegance, featuring exposed 140-year-old timbers, a gambrel vaulted ceiling, and a central raw granite bar opposite the original stone fireplace.

The menu focuses on rustic yet refined dishes with an emphasis on wood-fired pizzas crafted with simple, high-quality ingredients. The restaurant operates daily from 4 pm to 10 pm, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests.

Adjacent to The Boro, The Boro To Go is an all-day takeout café providing a convenient option for those on the move. Guests can enjoy freshly baked pastries, seasonal lattes, and a selection of wood-fired pizzas.

This casual eatery caters to varied tastes and offers light salads, charcuterie, and pizzas topped with vegetarian and meat options. The outdoor deck overlooks Fleming Creek, adding to the dining experience.

Dixboro House offers a more intimate and luxurious dining experience, ideal for private events and special occasions. The space accommodates up to 125 guests and includes an open kitchen, a granite bar, and a stone fireplace blending modern elegance with timeless character.

Dixboro House is available for private event bookings, including the month of December.

History and Preservation

The Dixboro Project is committed to preserving the rich history and natural beauty of the area. Originally, the property housed The Farm Cupboard, known for its famous fried chicken and prohibition-era cocktails, and later The Lord Fox, a beloved Ann Arbor landmark for 60 years.

In 2016, founder Sava Farah purchased the 6.5-acre site to save it from office redevelopment. The century-old barn was restored, and the land and dining legacy will be preserved for the next 100 years.
