About The Blood Connection
The Blood Connection (TBC) is a non-profit community blood center dedicated to providing a reliable and safe blood supply to hospitals and patients across the southeastern United States.
Established in 1962 in Greenville, South Carolina, TBC has grown to serve over 120 hospitals in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.
TBC operates 15 blood donation centers and manages 50 bloodmobile units, collectively collecting approximately 1,000 blood donations daily. This extensive network ensures a steady and sufficient blood supply for various medical needs, including surgeries, trauma care, cancer treatments, and emergency procedures.
In addition to its core services, TBC offers therapeutic phlebotomy at no charge, providing a community service to those in need. The organization also runs the TBC Rewards program, allowing donors to earn points redeemable for virtual eGift cards at popular retail locations, encouraging community participation.
TBC's commitment to the community is evident through its partnerships with local hospitals, ensuring that blood donations directly benefit patients in the region.
For instance, in 2022, TBC opened a new blood donation center in Augusta, Georgia, to better serve the local community.
