The Army Residence Community

Overview

The Army Residence Community (ARC) is a nonprofit Life Plan Community located in San Antonio, Texas. It is dedicated to providing a comprehensive continuum of care for retired military officers, their spouses, and surviving spouses.

Established in 1982, ARC offers various living options such as independent living cottages and apartments, assisted living, skilled nursing care, memory care, and rehabilitation therapies.

Eligibility and Community Access

The community is open to all honorably retired or discharged veterans from all service branches. It also serves honorably retired or separated civilian federal employees, including spouses and surviving spouses who are at least 62 years old.

Recent Renovations

In 2024, ARC underwent a significant renovation of its main lobby, incorporating a Texas Hill Country aesthetic to enhance resident comfort and satisfaction.

The updated design features new lighting, wood ceiling beams, and a lighter finish palette, creating a sense of openness and improving wayfinding within the community.
