Tam O'Shanter Urban Farm is a cherished community hub located on Bidston Hill in Wirral, UK. It offers free access to a variety of farm animals including pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, and geese. The farm is operated by the Tam O'Shanter Cottage Urban Farm Trust and provides an enjoyable and educational experience for visitors of all ages.
The farm encourages engagement with nature at every level. It promotes enhanced mental and physical well-being through activities such as exercise, horticulture, outdoor play, nature trails, scavenger hunts, and regular events. The farm aims to become the Wirral centre of excellence in wildlife care while managing, sustaining, and developing its public access urban farm.
Volunteering and Hours
In addition to animal care and educational programs, Tam O'Shanter Urban Farm offers volunteering opportunities for individuals interested in contributing to the farm's operations. It is open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.
Admission to the farm is free, and donations are welcomed to support its initiatives.

The farm is located at Boundary Road, Bidston Hill, Wirral, CH43 7PD. It is easily accessible by car from all areas of Wirral, near Birkenhead and Junction 1 of the M53.
